PSYCHOTHERAPY
Uses psychological techniques for therapeutic gain to help
manage a variety of mental, emotional and physical problems,
including anxiety, panic attacks, depression and irritable
bowel syndrome.
Hospice patients often have emotional as well as physical
discomfort as a result of their condition. Psychotherapy
allows you talk about your feelings at length, and goes
on to relieve the emotional problems generated by physical
illness.
Psychological Support Services for Cancer Care
The Hypno-chemo programme offers 12-structured sessions
of psychological support for cancer sufferers. Hypnotherapy
is used to teach relaxation, prepare for and treat the side
effects of chemotherapy; whilst guided imagery gives you
a ‘tool’ with which to fight cancer cells. Cognitive
behaviour therapy is used to identify and treat the emotional
problems associated with cancer and its treatments.
Group Relaxation
Patients are able to learn a range of relaxation techniques
to help deal with pain and/or emotional suffering.
