WHAT CAN I LEAVE TO MY FAVOURITE CHARITY?

We are very grateful for any gifts received; whether that is a sum of money, business shares, personal possessions such as paintings and jewellery or assets such as houses and land.

Legacies provide a much needed income to the Hospice funds and if you do choose to make a gift to any UK registered charity it will be exempt from Inheritance Tax.

There are several ways you can help:

Residuary:
The remainder of your estate once all other legacies have been distributed and debts and expenses have been paid. This can be divided up between named individuals, charities and other organisations.

Pecuniary:

When you would like to leave a specific sum of money

Specific:
Where you may like to leave a particular asset, such as property, shares or a personal possession.

If you would like to leave a gift to a charity it is important that your will contains specific wording to ensure your wishes are implemented. If your will is prepared by a solicitor they will do this for you, otherwise please see our ‘How Should I Word My Will?’ page for further information.

If you would like further information regarding leaving a gift in your will to Rossendale Hospice, please contact Sam in confidence on 01706 253633 or by email at fundraising@rossendalehospice.org
